Sustainability
Sustainability and ESG (Environmental Social Governance) are key issues in today’s society. The term comprises not only environmental aspects, but also social and governance issues.
The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are 17 goals for sustainable development set by the United Nations. They are divided into 169 sub-goals covering environmental, social and governance issues. As a part of the 2030 Agenda the SDGs form an international framework and should be achieved by 2030.
I have selected the following goals, which are particularly relevant to my work:
SDG 3 Good health and well-being
The health and well-being of my patients have been at the core of my practice as a doctor. From preventive care to acute treatment, I make a significant contribution to medical care in the region, both in my private practice and at the hospital.
SDG 4 Quality education
Part of my work at the hospital involves supervising medical students during their practical year (KPJ). By passing on my knowledge, I am contributing to the education of a future generation of doctors.
SDG 12 Responsible consumption and production
When selecting work materials and facilities, I pay attention not only to quality, but also to the origin, durability and disposal. The purchase of a sterilisation device has already reduced waste production over the past year.
